Arabica coffee ( Coffea arabica ) isthe world’s most popular coffee species accounting for about 60% of global productionThis coffee is highly sought after for its complex, smooth, slightly sweet flavor and distinctive fresh acidity, reminiscent of fruit or flowers. Compared to Robusta, Arabica has a much lower caffeine content (around 1.2% to 1.5%), making it gentler on the stomach and less bitter.
Main Characteristics of Arabica Coffee
- Where to Grow : Must be planted in cool highlands at an altitude of 600–2,000 meters above sea level (masl).
- Seed Shape : Tends to be oblong or oval with a curved center line resembling the letter “S” or eyebrows.
- Flavor Profile : Very rich with natural flavor notes such as citrus , berries, chocolate, caramel, and floral aromas.
- Sugar Content : Has twice the natural sugar content of Robusta coffee, providing a more balanced sweet taste.

- Aceh Gayo Arabica : Originating from the Gayo highlands, it has a strong spicy aroma, low to medium acidity, and a clean aftertaste
